いろは島

その昔、空海が、その眺めのあまりの素晴らしさに筆を投げて、しばし休養された折に名付けられたと伝えられる「いろは島」。展望台からの眺めがおすすめです。（写真はもやが掛かっていてあまりきれいに写っていませんが、本当はきれいな場所です。）

It is said that the scenery was so beautiful that Kukai, a Japanese monk (774-835), gave up trying to paint it and threw out his paintbrush. When he took a rest here, he named this place "Iroha-Jima." The view from the observatory is highly recommended.
